IT'S HEALTHY WEEK!

We have had a very exciting day! Year 6 have been to Whitlingham Broad today where they have had the opportunity to learn to kayak! They also took part in a mindful nature walk around the broad. They had a brilliant time and enjoyed jumping into the water after kayaking!

Year 3 and 4 took part in a Boogie Bounce trampolining workshop today on the field! They bounced and danced to music and had a great time!

KS2 Hula Hoop competition

On the last day of term, our Sport Council ran an intra-school hula hoop event. Each KS2 class sent a representative of each of our four school teams. The children then competed in their year groups to keep the hula hoop spinning for the longest amount of time. Year 5 particularly excelled at this! The overall winners were Team Earth! The points will be added to our school leaderboard.

Well done everyone who took part!

Girls' Football!

Today, we took two teams of Year 5/6 girls to the NSSP's football competition up at UEA. It was another great chance to put our Wildcats skills into action. The girls wore our new kit with pride and we superb representatives for Bignold. We had a brilliant day, one team finished 6th and the other won the competition! It was a brilliant all-round team effort.

Cricket
A group of Year 1s and 2s had a fantastic time at the UEA Cricket Festival on Monday 7th March. They participated in a range of different activities and games that taught them all about key cricket skills including batting, bowling and fielding. Their behaviour was exemplary and they really made Bignold proud! Well done superstars!

Year 4 Football
A number of girls from Year 4 had the opportunity to visit the UEA Sportspark on Wednesday 9th March to take part in a football festival. Our pupils joined in with fun and enthusiasm and were a credit to Bignold with their positivity and all-round excellent attitude and behaviour. Future Bignold Wildcats in the making (and maybe some of them could be future Lionesses too!).

Friday 11th February 2022

7 of our girls from our Y5/6 Wildcats football club had the exciting opportunity to represent the school at

the Norwich City Primary Stars competition. The competition was held at 'The Nest', which has amazing facilities. We had a brilliant day and the organisers said that our girls showed great teamwork and kindness throughout the day. The girls also enjoyed trying out our new girls' football kit!

Bound for Beijing - the challenge continues...

This term, we are challenging our children to log as much physical activity as possible on their year group dashboard to try and reach the top of Mount Spirit. Year 5 are currently in the lead! Can the other year groups catch them?

Thursday 14th October 2021 - FIXTURES ARE BACK!!
Football development league - report written by Henry in Year 6

On the 11th October 2021, Bignold Primary School participated in a football competition against other schools around Norwich. We didn't win, but it was certainly fun. The UEA was perfect for the football tournament as many schools can use its mass of football fields. The schools we played tried really hard and so did we.
