Thursday 14th October 2021 - FIXTURES ARE BACK!!
Football development league - report written by Henry in Year 6
On the 11th October 2021, Bignold Primary School participated in a football competition against other schools around Norwich. We didn't win, but it was certainly fun. The UEA was perfect for the football tournament as many schools can use its mass of football fields. The schools we played tried really hard and so did we.

Today we took part in the National School Games Santa Dash. The children wore santa hats/tinsel and took part in a 'dash' with their classmates. It was great to be part of a country-wide running event and we had great fun!

We have just been sent some exciting news! We have been given two awards due to our commitment to school sport events at the start of the last academic year and during lockdown. Thank you to everyone for taking part- Well done Bignold!

We were incredibly lucky to have Paralympian Sean Rose in school on Tuesday. Every class took part in a fun fitness session with Sean and it was great to see so many smiling faces, despite the rain! We also watched Sean's virtual assembly which was wonderful and incredibly inspiring. 'If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough!' Head over to 3CJ's class page to see what they thought of the event!
Friday 25th September 2020:
It has been fantastic to be back at school and enjoying PE together. We have been lucky with the weather, apart from today, but please do remember to have a waterproof in school as our lessons are outside. Well done to our Year 4 children who have completed their Bikeability Level 1 course this week - super stars! We are really lucky to have Paralympian Sean Rose coming to run fitness sessions with all of the children on Tuesday 29th September. He has also prepared an inspirational virtual assembly which we can't wait to watch.
Monday 14th September 2020:
We are delighted to have all of our children back in school and are ready to get stuck into some great PE lessons again! We have also started our daily exercise sessions and the feedback from the children (and staff!) has been really positive - it's great to get moving together! We are really looking forward to starting our PE lessons, please check the new PE policy to see the changes to our PE kit and the updated policy on earrings.

Thursday 26th March 2020:
There are plenty of ways to try and stay as active as possible at home. Being physically active has so many benefits and is a great mood-booster! On the PE and Sport Premium page, you will find a 'Staying active' page which has a number of links to websites and videos which will give you some inspiration. I can highly recommend joining in with Joe Wicks' PE session every weekday morning at 9am on YouTube. It is a fantastic way to start the day and I know that many of our teachers have also been taking part in the workout - fun for all the family! Keep safe and keep moving!
Wednesday 18th March 2020:
Another thank you to all children and staff for making Sport Relief a success last Friday. It was fantastic to see so many children in sport kit and taking part in our challenge to run Bignold marathons! We were able to raise a lot of money for a wonderful cause. The early morning dance session had a brilliant turn out - this is something which we will certainly look into doing again in the future.
Thursday 12th March 2020:
Thank you to everyone who collected Aldi Kit for Schools stickers for us! Our brand new kit bag arrived yesterday with lots of equipment inside including: shiny relay batons, training bibs and cones. We look forward to using them in our PE lessons.
