PTA

You have arrived at the school Parent and Teacher Association page, but at Bignold we are affectionately known as the BFF which stands for Bignold Friends and Family.

If you are a new parent or carer this year, hello! and welcome, and thank you for taking a look at this page and our story. If you have spent some pennies with us in other years, hi again and thank you for reading on too.

The BFF is supported primarily by parents (with representative members of staff at the school too), with the aim to raise funds for school projects and events through traditional PTA bake sales, second hand uniform and fundraising events. We aim to also provide additional enrichment to the school community through arts and creative projects and some key big events in the school calendar.

This year has been universally strange and challenging. Through the Spring term we saw the proposed line-up of events all the way through to the whole school Summer Celebration ‘BigFest’ cancelled while we adjusted to life with Covid19.

The beginning of this new school year has seen lots of new measures to ensure that the children can be back at school safely and for all parents, this has taken energy and time in already testing circumstances.

The BFF has been thinking of new ideas for the Winter term now that our ‘normal’ is not allowed. Additionally we would like to assure you that the conversation with school about the fundraising resources we have banked is alive and we are working to try and make good decisions along the way to ensure extra opportunities can be afforded to the children in spite of all the restrictions in place to keep everyone safe.

Our NEW news and plans will be detailed here very soon.

The BFF very much welcomes new members, indeed anyone interested to just see what it’s all about, is warmly invited to drop us a line and join us on one of our scheduled (friendly!) Zoom call meetings. We are all less than PRO so please rest assured we will all be wrestling with our screens and mics too!

Our next meeting date is Thursday 12 November at 10am. Please email us so we can send you a Zoom meeting invitation...drop us a line to Admin Bignold

In addition to information here, you can also find the group on Facebook - search Bignold Friends and Family. You will be ok’d by our admin when you follow as this is a private group. This is an excellent resource for quick checks on BFF news and related topics. The group is monitored so that it does not become a place for negativity or inappropriate comments; this isn’t tolerated.

But for now please look up the Autumn half term children’s photography competition on the attachment here and enjoy the beautiful colours outside and cosy compositions inside.
