Friday 8th May - Letter from Binks Neate-Evans
I hope this week has been manageable for you all. Many thanks to so many of you for your thoughtful responses to our consultation. The number of responses has been the highest out of any recent survey. I think this is because it is such a critical and worrying issue for us all. It is also helpful to know that this format seemed to work too so we can use that again for future consultations.
I'm sure you will know there are government announcements due this Sunday. We are working closely with Evolution who will support us in whatever model of re-opening is proposed, ensuring that safety and care of children, staff and the community come first. We have a trust meeting planned for Monday afternoon and it is unlikely that we will have firmer plans to share with families until later in the week. May I politely request that you do not phone school for details as we will want to inform our community in a clear and coherent way. We will not give out information individually. Thank you so much for your continued patience and support.
It is not currently clear as to whether key worker provision in schools will be required over May half term. Again, we will keep you informed as soon as we have had direction from the Local Authority. We encourage families to use the arrangements they would normally have in place for holidays as far as is possible.
It will be an unusual bank holiday weekend, not least because it's on a Friday but because lockdown guidance is still very much in place. We are encouraging our staff and community to ensure they continue with safe behaviour and not be lulled into a false sense of safety as the weeks roll by. I hope this reminder is received as a caring message, very much about protecting our wonderful children and their families.
Keep well and take good care.
